You're invited to join us on Tour this September!!
The Hamilton Plein Air Artists September 2025 Tour begins with our first stop in Dundas at the Dundas Artisan Market on September 7th. When you come to the show you will see members of our group out in the park painting the scenes they find before them, en plein air!!
Then be sure to visit our booth to select a beautiful handmade artwork created by one of our members.
If you're an artist, this is a great time to chat with members to learn more about the wonderful community work that we do and join us!!

Homer Watson Art Fair, Homer Watson House and Gallery, Kitchener
Our 2nd stop on the Hamilton Plein Air Artists September 2025 Tour finds us in Kitchener at the Homer Watson Art Fair on September 13th.

Grand River Arts Festival, Glenhyrst Gallery, Brantford
Our final stop on the Hamilton Plein Air Artists September 2025 Tour finds us in Brantford at the Grand River Arts Festival on September 20th.

January 25, 2025 - Hamilton Adventure Expo: HOPPA members will be providing painting demonstrations during the expo at the Ancaster Fairgrounds.

June 4-7, 2026 - Hamilton Plein Air Festival: Our 2nd annual festival will feature up to 100 competitors, cash prizes, meet and greet evening, workshops, demonstrations and more!

Past Events
August 17, 2024 - Art in the Parking Lot Festival: HOPAA members setup our festival tent to display and sell our work during the Art in the Parking lot festival at Battlefield Park. We demonstrated our skills by painting scenes in the park. And we successfully sold artwork!
July 21, 2024 - Niagara Glen Road Trip: Members met at the Niagara Glen Nature Centre. We hit the trails with our art materials and returned with stunning pieces of the views we found.
June 6-9, 2024 - 1st Annual Hamilton Plein Air Festival: Our group hosted and planned Hamilton's first Plein Air festival during the 2024 Hamilton Arts Week. As Signature presenters of Arts Week our festival featured painters across Ontario who registered to compete for cash prizes during the 4 day plein air festival. With 52 registered competitors we were pleased to have run such a successful event.
November 2023 - 1st Annual Show and Sale for Members: Hosted at Welcome Inn Community Centre and attended by over 50 visitors during the show, our first organized group event featured 6 members who participated. We enjoyed some sales and made new friends.
September 15, 2023 - McMichael Road Trip: Group members met at the McMichael Gallery to create en plein air for the galleries annual plein air competition. Afterwards we had lunch and then toured the gallery.
July 2023 House Party Meet and Greet: Members gathered at the home of our group leader to enjoy a morning of painting and a lunch.
