An outdoor art workshop for youth aged 9-16 and adults
Learn to paint an expressive landscape with bold brushstrokes, lively trees, wet in wet washes and beautiful greens.
Jacquie will demonstrate how she approaches a landscape by:
finding an exciting scene
creating a value sketch
You’ll also learn how to create wet in wet washes and finish your painting with details and darks that bring a painting together.
Plus you’ll learn how to mix beautiful greens and use watercolour techniques
Supplies to bring:
Collapsible stool or easel
Small sketchbook and pencil
Watercolour paper or block (9 by 12 inch Fabriano Studio is good student paper)
Watercolour paint (12 tube set of Winsor Newton Cotman watercolour paint can be bought on Amazon)
Paints Jacquie uses: Hansa yellow, Indian yellow, Ultramarine blue, Pthalo blue, Cobalt Turquoise, light, Rose Madder or Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Cad. Red or scarlet red)
Water container and cup
Brushes (2 or 3 favourite rounds #12, #8 and a #6 rigger brush. I like Princeton Aqua Elite)
Mini water bottle
Paper towel and masking tape
Support for paper (foam core slightly bigger than your paper)
Class Location: Fifty Point Conservation Area, 1479 Baseline Rd, Hamilton
